Display Screen equipment (DSE) Assessments

Broadland Group Limited offer independent DSE and ergonomic assessments within the working environment. Our assessments enable the client to meet the requirements of DSE regulations and also DDA regulations by advising on 'reasonable adjustments' for users that may have a disability affecting their work.

Broadland Group Limited can assist your company by undertaking individual DSE risk assessments of all users to ensure they will be more comfortable in their working environment. These risks can include, but are not restricted to:

  • Eye strain
  • Fatigue and stress
  • Neck strain
  • Upper limb disorders in arms, elbows, wrists, hands and fingers.

These assessments will provide a detailed report on any potential risk of injury, enabling you to implement the neccessary control measures to comply with DSE regulations. Legal Duty

There is a statutory requirement within The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 requiring employers to minimise the health risks inherent in the usage of computer workstations. These regulations are mandatory and require employers to, among other things, conduct a safety risk assessment of each workstation and provide appropriate training to their employees.

Regulation 1: Applies the Regulations to people who use DSE sufficiently frequently and/or intensively for there to be some possibility of risk. Deciding whether a person is a DSE user, no account should be taken of time spent by that person on those item listed with this regulation not to mobile equipment itself.
Regulation 2: Analysis of Work Stations, Risk Assessment and Reduction.
Regulation 3: Requirements for Work Stations.
Regulation 4: Daily Work Routine of Users.
Regulation 5: Eyes and eye sight.
Regulation 6: Training.
